African Grey Bird Toys
Medium sized birds like the African Grey require different types of toys than the average bird. African Grey bird toys should be engaging and have some type of problem solving aspect like a puzzle that dispenses a treat. While regular hanging toys are important, toys that require an action and sometimes an action to give a reward provide both stimulation and enrichment for an intelligent species like the Grey. African Grey’s can become easily bored after the weaning process. They enjoy listening to the sounds in their environment and seeing all of the activity that takes place around them. Allowing your Grey to experiment, forage, and play in a way that keeps them busy thinking will give it the stimulation it needs. Grey’s are natural problem solvers and despite their reputation for being clumsy (which is not true) are very graceful. If you have an African Grey as a part of your family don’t rely on toys to provide it’s required entertainment. Allow your bird to be a complete part of the family.
