Following My Aunt’s Steps and Planning Ahead for the Next Holiday to Cuba

My aunt makes a point of going on a fun holiday every year. She always says that holidays should be a special time for de-stressing, unwinding, letting your hair down and learning a new thing or two while having fun. This year, she is looking into Cuba holidays. For a long time she has wanted to go to Havana, ever since she saw a Cuban film that was nominated to the Oscars back in 1993, called Fresa y Chocolate.

La Guarida, Fresa y Chocolate film location, Havana

The film moved her and soon after that she saw other Cuban films and read up on the tiny, controversial yet uniquely fascinating Caribbean island.

So this year, after she finally decided to go, she has been doing a lot of online reading and researching into the specific tourist attractions that she would like to see during her holidays in Havana, although we also plan to be pampered at a nice Varadero resort for 3 nights and enjoy its glorious, world-famous, 13-mile beach.

Cuba, Varadero Beach

My uncle usually lets my aunt make all the travel plans because this way, she cannot blame him for any mishaps or for missing something special in the “must-see” or “must-do” list she always writes up.

They have practically been all over the world, except for a few holiday destinations in the Far East, but they’ve definitely been to all the five continents. They plan to stay in Cuba for a week and combine their time in Havana with extended holidays in Varadero.

Old Havana, Cuba

Besides working on the itinerary, my aunt is also starting to buy new light linen clothes for travel, to adapt to Cuba’s unforgiving humid heat. This is all part of the pre-planning that my aunt goes through. My aunt and uncle are fortunate that they have a healthy retirement plan to live on, allowing them to afford annual holidays like this. I wonder where they will go next year!

Feeling Like a Tourist in Your Own Town

One of the Cheap New Years Eve Breaks that I like to enjoy is going into downtown. Obviously, if you are already living in a downtown that wouldn’t be much of a break. For you, I’d say a great, cheap New Year’s Eve break would be to find a bread and breakfast out in the country. For those of us who don’t live in downtown though, a weekend in the city is a great way to feel like you’ve traveled without having all the costs of a traditional vacation. It seems that most people who live near a major metropolis don’t go into it unless they work there or there’s some extraordinary reason to do so. Often, we’re tourists in our own towns. That can be a good thing for you though. You can get a nice room and go out to dinner and feel like you’re having a completely new experience. Mostly, that’s because you are.

Have Fun with Thomson Holidays Turkey Packages

Green room ... Thomson Holidays designs aim to help planet“Decadent” should be the first word that comes to your mind when you think of a Thomson Holidays Turkey trip. Turkey is a place where opulence is the norm and being hedonistic is more than acceptable. Turkey may no longer be a place where harems still exist, but the many historical attractions you will get to visit will never make you forget that Turkey was once the world’s center for sensual pleasure.

Turkey is also the place where you can fully let go and let your passion come alive. Men and women should not pass on the chance of trying out belly dancing. If they have the budget to splurge on some authentic costumes, that would be even better!

Lastly, Turkey is one place where shopping is more a necessity than an option. Turkey has so many rare finds that you will not be able to purchase anywhere else. If you do not shop in Turkey, you are likely to regret it for the rest of your life.

Then last week, I received a call from my friends that they will go here for a free vacation and tour from luxury hotel Hong Kong, boutique hotel Hong Kong. They told me that I can join them because the vacation and tour coupon can accomodate up to seven people. I searched the luxury hotel Hong Kong, boutique hotel Hong Kong which sponsored their trip and I was amazed to find out that this hotel is one of the most luxurious hotels in Hong Kong. I am very lucky that they invited me to go with them. Even I am staying here for good, I do not think that I can afford such very expensive accomodation. It will be a week of adventure and bonding moment with my childhood friends.

Music Around the World

to unfold the story of african american slavery and freedomMusic is one of the few things that people from all over the world, no matter where, have in common.

From the smallest tribes hidden in the forrest who do not even know about the rest of the world, to people living in large cosmopolitan cities.

We all share a love for music, for beautiful sounds – yet they are often very different from each other.

I find it very interesting to listen to the music played in different countries when I travel.

By just taking a short flight during the cheapest days to fly down to Bavaria for the weekend, I find myself in a completely different culture who likes a totally different kind of music than where I am from.

I remember visiting Vanuatu, a country known to have the happiest people in the world, and the music was extremely happy and up-beat.

You can find out a lot about a culture and its people by listening to the music, sometimes the lyrics tell it all, sometimes all you need to hear are the tones.

It is true from the afro american slavery in the states to music about world war two. In the music you can hear the pain, frustration, frighteness and determination.

Next time you choose to take a trip somewhere, remember two things: always travel during the cheapest days to fly, and make an effort to find the local music and listen to it.

Sometimes I even buy CD’s with me home, but these days it is enough to soak up the experience in a pub or at a concert, and then download the artist’s music on iTunes or listen to it on Spotify.

It is cheap and it saves space in your bag.

If you bring carry-on luggage you have to be very strict with what you buy on your trip as you do not have much space to play with.

Goodbye, Proximity Problems!

I am so glad that we are moving to Switzerland soon! My husband is an amazing man, and I love his family for creating such an individual. But, in-laws will always be in-laws. You can only take them in small doses.

The problem is, my husband’s family is pretty tight-knit that, after we got married, his dad generously offered a huge lot in their compound for us to live in. The lot is now in my husband’s name, which is always a great offer, and something that we could not refuse.

You can probably imagine now how this proximity thing played a major role in our marital problems. I just felt so cramped. My moves are always watched. When I gave birth to our son, the in-laws would not leave our house! I had to ask my husband to make his family leave and give me a break!

Well, that is all going away soon! I cannot wait!

Creating a Checklist for Your Jamaica Wedding

When planning or setting up your Jamaica wedding you wouldn’t survive without a checklist. A checklist will ensure that you have everything covered and ready to go. Of course the preferred option is to get a wedding planner to handle the wedding but these are the steps if you can’t.

  • Arrange your list into sections; flights, pre weddings, weddings and post wedding. This will allow you to group the things you need
  • Create lists below each of these items and leave room for a few more. The checklists take a few days to develop since you are bound to have forgotten something
  • Rearrange your checklist chronologically. This may sound like a pain but sometimes you can forget the items you need at the start because your item is too far down.

These are just a few items but they make a huge difference. Make sure you add them to your checklist creation process to help your Jamaica wedding go off without a hitch.

Plan Ahead for Enjoying Low Cost Holidays

If you do not have a lot of disposable income and are looking for low cost holidays, follow one mantra- always plan ahead! Booking your tickets during the non tourist season can help you save a lot of money as flight tickets are very cheap during non peak seasons in order to drive sales. Also, be flexible with your dates; a day or two earlier or later might make a lot of difference in terms of the price you pay for the tickets as generally ticket prices are higher during the weekends and holidays. A lot of websites offer bulk discount on packages. It is a good idea to check all of them out before deciding anything. You can also take the help of a local travel agent, who can get you better offers because of some deals they might have with the flights and hotels. A little research can go a long way in ensuring that you enjoy low cost holidays without much compromise.

St. Lucia Resorts-nothing is Too Much

A resort is a place of relaxation and recreation. This is the exact definition of St. Lucia resorts as they have restaurants, fitness centers, discotheques, spas and many other wonderful facilities. They are well constructed and conveniently located next to transport amenities like airports thus accessing them is not a problem. The staff are well trained thus there is no rudeness or cases of lost items because the main agenda is to keep the guest satisfied. The food is prepared under hygienic conditions and the kitchens have been inspected by health officers. St. Lucia Resorts also organize tours for their guests so that they can go on an incredible sight seeing which will make them learn more about the country that they are visiting. The information desk staff can help you to keep your appointments by reminding you of various things including the time of your flight. According to these resorts there is nothing as too much.

Wine and Dine in France’s Famous Culinary Region

Burgundy is a beautiful and picturesque region, situated in France, where I have enjoyed a recent trip thanks to Thomson Holidays 2012. It boasts breathtaking scenery and an abundance of flora and fauna in the rugged, beautiful Morvan Forest, along with historic châteaux’s and monasteries, which I discover anew each time. Burgundy Tourism is a great site to visit when planning your stay.

Famous for its wine and exquisite cuisine, Burgundy is also a great place to visit if you are after a wine tasting weekend away or a holiday filled with indulgence. Treat yourself to some of the delicious produce from the local markets and farm shops that are dotted throughout the region.

With long summers, mild autumns, and colorful changing seasons to appreciate, Burgundy is a lovely place to escape to all year round.

Getting there

You can fly directly into Paris or Lyons airports from all over the world, or use the channel crossing. Travelling around Burgundy is best done by train or car, with high speed trains and plenty of accessible main roads, getting around is easy.

We Always Stop at Camping World Somewhere in the Country when We Go on Vacation

I was looking for camping world locations. We like to stop on our way to our vacation spot for the year. This year we were going out west and toward the south. We are getting a late start on vacation this year. The peak season is over for a lot of northern attractions. However, the business is still good where we were going because the weather is still beautiful there. It isn’t going to be cold and snowing where we are going. We load up in the big RV and head out as a family. We stop at Camping World every year in order to pick up the things we’ve been wanting. We take our RV trips seriously. I only have a few more years and the kids will be going off to college and it will just be me and my wife. The destinations will probably change then, but we will still go to Camping World to shop.
