The Hangtime 16-Royal Regional volleyball team made it's first venture away from home and went 9-4 at Carpe Diem in Grand Rapids. They finished second in the tournament losing to Dynasty in the finals.
Heading into the finals, the Royals had a 5-1 pool mark and a 4-1 playoff mark, ending the day with the 9-4, moving them to 18-8 for the early season record.
Spenser Wells (Vassar) led the Royals with 13 kills and 18 digs, Heather Pollick (Saginaw) added 13 kills and 15 digs. Lauren Plotzke and Jordan Fedorchak (Midland) added 11 and 10 kills respectively. Laura King (Midland) contributed 42 assists and 12 digs for the day. Hannah Hayes (Frankenmuth) led the defense with 36 digs, while Taylor Goik (Bay City) adding 28 digs.
